Palestine at the doors of 2000
Introduction
Palestine. Palestine, noble land of prophets and great wise men. Land of Jesus Christ and manger of the three monotheistic religions. Palestine, dead and revived one thousand times. Fertile land of citrus fruits and minerals. Charming Palestine. Palestine of rocks and thyme. Palestine of hope and frustration. Palestine, the cradle of humanity and culture. Palestine of scholars. Palestine in blood and flower. Palestine, a millenary land born from the bosom of Jerusalem, the Holy one, the Loved one, the Profaned one. Jerusalem, my birthplace, the city I was forbidden to enjoy. Palestine of exiles and refugees. Palestine of return.
Palestine 2000, History of a country in its Landscapes, Music and Poetry. It summarizes the life of a millenary country which knew how to survive to adversities, invasions and those who in name of one or another humiliated its dignity. A country which tied up to its roots and evoked its landscapes, a country which made life and fight become an altar to poetry and a country which expressed its grief and hope in its songs.
Palestine, land of peace, marked with fire with the words of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem: “Today I have come to bring life and life in abundance”. This is our commitment. This is the commitment of each of us and you.
