Introduction
It is the history of life, grief, suffering and the tragedy of the
people. Pre-biblical, ancient, contemporary, present.
People of the land, promise and crucifixion. Country of prophets and great wise men. Country of the Palestinian King Melquisdec. Country of Abraham and the Palestinian Jesus Christ. Country of the rising of Mohammad to heaven.
Country of love and solemnity. Land of milk and honey, Palestine legitimately belongs to its people, to the three great religions and to men who love peace.
Expert of the bitter flavor of exile, pulled out of his birthplace, the sacred old city of Jerusalem, the author reflects, appealing to reflection, the bare history, the other one, the hidden one, the one that always was imposed silence on.
In his chapters, he slides the pen remembering the foundation of Jerusalem-Al Quds (The Saint) 3500bC. Moving, he narrates the 27 occupations from 1515 bC. up to now. The role of the imperial and colonial powers that were made of Palestine. The conspiracy and the arrogance of those who tried to change the root of the Palestinian People and the geography of its land.
It deepens in the recent centuries XVIII, XIX Y XX, where Palestine remained trapped in conspiracy, which allowed the foundation of the first Jewish settlement in Petah Tikva in 1878, near Jaffa; the Zionist embroilment to establish a Jewish State in Palestine; the Zionist terrorism destroying 418 Palestinian villages and cities in 1948 and the creation of the Israel State over its debris and the Palestinian exile.
The total occupation of Palestine and East Jerusalem in 1967. The Palestinian Intifadas (popular raising) in 1914 against Ottoman-Turkish; the one of 1936 against the British occupation and the Zionist terrorism; the ones of 1976, 1987 and 2000 against the Israeli occupation are part of a different style with regard to the history which is usually changed by the winners: the colonialists.
The moving narration of the Palestinian holocaust from the first Palestinian Martyr Jesus Christ, crucified by the Roman-Hebrew power in Palestine, to the martyrdom of the Homeland Father and Nobel Peace Prize Yasser Arafat by the Israeli occupation government.
The creation of the PLO in 1946, the fight against the internal and external terrorism in its opposition of giving back the name of Palestinians to the people and the name of Palestine to the land. The massacres. The agreements and their signings which dried the Palestinian-Israeli tears and showed a fleeting smile eliminated by the enemies of peace.
With permanent respect, he emphasized the vigor of forgiveness, reconciliation and the acceptance of the other, in the greatness of the his people about the painful concessions and the lovers of peace in the Israeli camp.
Interesting, daring, critical; in his book Suhail Hani Daher Akel looked for maintaining alive the memory of his millenary Palestinian people with dignity. The which represent when considering the inevitable common path of live and cohabitation of two people and two states: Palestine and Israel, which definitively justifies the reason of the tragedy.
